Water polo anyone?

Westlee has taken on the sport - Father like son! I suppose we named him right. He even looks a lot like Wylee and now he's in the swimming pool just like his dad was at that age!

Westlee started water polo in January so he can get "physically fit" for Philmont. (He will be going with our stake scout troop in July to the Arizona.) Anyway... He's beginning to discover the thrill & excitement of this water polo stuff. He and Wylee "polo" talk all the time. Wylee has taken the "unofficial" role of coaching some of the kids on Saturdays to help them with techniques and skills. Westlee is catching on quickly and likes the exta time wth his dad as well. I am left in amazement at the whole thing.

These shots were taken at the "rival" Wekiva high school game just last week. (March 11, 2010.) Apopka High was split and the new Wekiva school was built. This was a big game for Westlee! Westlee had lots of game time. He made a great skip-shot that scored with power! Of course... we all cheered and screamed our support. He has been playing the "hole" postion which entells a lot of ball action. He is getting better at his passing and scoring.

Water polo reminds me of a cross between basketball and soccor - then add the water & swimming. It's all so complicated to me. They say that swimming is tough but water polo is the game of champions. I'd probably drown out there. But... Westlee is loving it and he dad is proud as can be! I'm pretty proud of him too!

Great work! I am sorry I am slow to comment-sometimes I just look and read. We are really proud of you; just wish we could be there to watch!
