Tony's Spectacular Summer - On his way to the National Jamboree

Over 18 months of planning and preparation came to an end very early in the morning of July 20th as we sent Tony on his way to the BSA National Jamboree.

We had to leave at O Dark 30 (3:00 AM). Tony looked like he was half-asleep.

The parking lot of the Dee Events Center was very dark.

Tony and one of his friends haul their bags to the school bus that would take Tony's troop to the airport for the flight to Buffalo.

Tony had fun on the plane. Sorry Karen, none of the Trapper Trails troops flew on Jet Blue.

On July 21st the Scouts visited Niagra Falls. Then they went on to Palmyra to visit some sites from early church history.

The boys were happy to be there.

They saw Martin Harris' home.

They also toured the Grandin building where the Book of Mormon was first published.

They visited the Smith Cabin and ate lunch at the Smith farm.

Tony was very excited to visit the Sacred Grove with his friends.

They also visited the Hill Cumorah.

They left Palmyra and visited the Aaronic Priesthood restoration monument in Pennsylvania. They had some adventure as they had to take a detour because a huge tree blew down and completely blocked the road. Finally they reached their hotel in Philadelphia.

On July 22nd the Scouts visited historic sites in Philadelphia. Then they had a fantastic time on a visit to Gettysburg.

Great to see all the FUN Tony is having. No worries about not being on JetBlue, not everyone can have the BEST seat in the house :) Thanks for sharing.
